Three Days Of Darkness And The Coming Flood

There is a pattern which shows up over and over in the Scriptures which Jesus spoke about in His Matthew 24 discourse on end times. He stated that the sun moon and stars would grow dark just before the trumpet for the rapture would be blown and the elect gathered.

He was quoting from Isaiah 13 in Matthew 24. He wanted us to see that His return was going to coincide with the destruction of Babylon (Iraq). The Medes (present day Kurds) would destroy Iraq with nuclear missiles. This war would send the earth into complete darkness as the earth moved out of its orbit from around the sun.

This darkness would last three days just as Jesus was in the grave three days. This is Jesus' sign which He called the sign of the Son of Man. He told the scribes and pharisees that He would be in the heart of the earth for three days. Jesus the light of the world would be missing for three days and nights. Three days of darkness would be upon the earth as He lay in the grave.

This sign is in the opening of Genesis 1:1-2. Notice the earth is in darkness and flooded. The sun moon and stars are not placed into the heavens until the fourth day. There were three days of darkness first. Yes, God said, "Let there be light long before the fourth day, but He also tells us that He seperated the light from the darkness. He did not permit the light to enter into the darkness until the fourth day.

Again we see this sign when God makes His covenant (contract) with Abram. Genesis 15 A horrible darkness descends upon Abram. God shows Abram that his descendants must endure 400 years of slavery. Then, on the anniversary of this covenant, God returns and delivers Abram's descendants. There are three days of darkness just before they leave Egypt.

Next we see this sign when Jesus hangs on the cross. Three hours of darkness ensue. Then, Jesus the light of the world is missing three days and nights.
